Local moves, without the national-brand price tag

A move from Strand to Somerset West is not a Johannesburg relocation, and it should not be quoted like one. Big removal companies price around a national cost base — a call centre, a fleet, a warehouse. For a move of a few kilometres across the Helderberg, most of that is overhead you are paying for and not using.

What makes a move go smoothly

Pack the small things before the day. It sounds obvious, but the single biggest cause of a move running long — and costing more — is boxes being filled while the truck stands waiting. Furniture, appliances and anything genuinely heavy are ours to worry about; loose kitchen contents in open boxes are the thing that eats hours.

Tell us about the awkward items up front: the piano, the safe, the glass-top dining table, the eight-seater that came in through a window. And flag stairs, narrow passages and complex access at both ends. None of it is a problem — it just needs to be in the quote.

Clearing as you go

Most moves generate waste: things that do not deserve a spot on the new truck. Because we also run clear-outs and skips, we can take the discard pile on the same trip instead of leaving it for the new owner to inherit.
